Christmas and the Aftermath

So like an the real smart person that I am, I forgot to take pictures of the kids opening their Christmas presents. I took these of the stuff that Santa left but nothing of the unwrapping. I think because Santa left all the cool stuff and the un wrap stuff was things like shoes, boots, socks, stuff kids don't really car much about. Every year we say that we will do it small and not have so much crap, and every year that "one more thing" always turns into too much!! Next year will be different. We also got lots of stuff they needed too, like shoes, boots, clothes so I guess it wasn't so bad. It was a very nice day with friends and family and I loved it.

New years eve was fun too, and again I forgot to take pictures. We had the Atkinsons, the Crofts, Some new neighbors the Christopherson's and her Father Babu. Christopher's family also joined. Auntie made the yummiest Chili Verde and I made some Cheesey Potato soup and we had more snacks and treats then you can imagine. We ate, watched the Jazz Game, watched the new Evil Kanevil guy jump some stuff at Ceasers Palace and played games till Midnight. The kids were really good too.

The kids were off track for elementary school from Dec 24th to Jan 14th and that wasn't nearly as crazy as I thought it would be, being the 24 hour entertainer can wear on a mommy sometimes. I think we got a little spoiled being able to sleep in everyday and not worry about rushing to get ready for school. We went to the movies a couple of times, watched a lot of movies at home, got a rec center pass and went swimming a couple of times. And now, thank goodness, they've started School again....Let their teachers entertain them for a few hours while Mommy takes a breath...

We kept Insta Care in business for the last few weeks too. Zach with Strep Throat, Me and Daddy with colds/flu (his worse then mine) and Steph with a broken Thumb. She was lifting a small dumbell (showing off for her friend Maddie I'm sure) and when it got to heavy she dropped her hand backward and smashed her finger with the weight against the wall behind her. She had to wear a pretty awakward little splint thing for a couple of weeks and now just when she is playing at school and stuff. Doc said it would be fine and shouldn't bother her to much in the future. Our first official broken bone. I hope it is our last...but she got my "grace" genes so I highly doubt that.

I got back on the Weight Watchers wagon along with the rest of the world at the first of the year. I did WW from June to Oct and lost 33 lbs...I quit thru the holidays and gained back 10lbs (in 3 months...crazy) Now I'm working like crazy to get rid of that AGAIN and get rid of the rest of the 60 or 70 I need to go from there. Whats fun about it this time is Chris decided to do it with me and I love having him on board. I love cooking healthy food for us and watching how excited he gets when I show him how much of the "right" stuff he can eat. Its nice doing this together...We got a gym pass too and are working together to make time for each of us to exercise at least 3 times a week. By summer I'm sure we will both be super models!! :) I mostly hope the we can make this a forever lifestyle and have us and our kids very happy and healthy for a long, long time. Maybe I should post some before and after pics...that could be motivating....
